FAQ:

• Are you a veterinarian?

Yes.  I graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993.  I have been a licensed veterinarian in the state of Pennsylvania since then.

• How can you do spays and neuters so cheap?

I am able to spay or neuter at a cheaper price than most veterinarians because I keep my costs down.  I do not have a fancy facility or furnishings.  I have no staff other than family.  I have only the equipment and medications needed to spay or neuter, so not as much tied up in equipment repairs and maintaining inventory. I shop around for the lowest prices on supplies. By doing so many surgeries in the past year and a half, I have become very efficient.

• Do you require vaccines?

No.  I offer FVRCP (distemper) and rabies vaccines, but I do not require them in order for you to get your cat spayed or neutered. Tell me if you want vaccines when you come in for surgery.

• Do you declaw?

No. I do not offer declawing.  If you want to declaw your cat, you can either do both surgeries together at your regular vet, or spay/neuter at my facility and declaw at your regular vet.

• Do you do low cost spay/neuter for dogs?

No. I am only set up to do cats.

• Do you tip the ears?

I only tip the ear of a spayed/neutered cat if you request it when you drop off. (This is often done when people are trapping cats from a large colony, so that they can tell from a distance which cats have been done)

• Can I drop off or pick up my cat other than the designated times?

Because I am usually working alone, it is often difficult for me to accommodate special requests for drop off or pick up times.  However, it doesn’t hurt to ask and I will accommodate you if I can.

• Do you work with feral cats?

Yes.  I like you to schedule an appointment to bring the feral in, then try to trap the afternoon or evening before.  If you don’t happen to catch it, just call the morning of your appointment and I will reschedule you so that you can try again. 

• Will you vaccinate my cat even if I don’t need a spay or neuter?

I will, provided that you are able to work around my spay/neuter schedule.

• Do you provide vet services for sick animals?

I have limited resources available to treat sick animals.  It would be best to have them seen by your regular vet.
